Step 1: Install MetaMask

Step 2: Set Up Your MetaMask Wallet

  1. After installing, click the MetaMask fox icon on the top-right corner of your browser.
  2. Agree to the terms and conditions.
  3. Click "Create a Wallet". If you'd prefer not to send any data to MetaMask, you can choose "No Thanks".
  4. Choose a password. Make sure it's secure and hard to guess. Ideally, your password should be a minimum of 12 characters long and include a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Your password is used to encrypt your local data, including your private keys and other account information. Therefore, a strong, complex password is essential to ensure the security of your MetaMask wallet. Even though this data is locally stored in your browser, it is encrypted and can only be accessed with your password. If anyone were to gain access to this data without your password, they would not be able to use it due to the encryption. Click "Create" once you've chosen your password.
  5. Now, the most important part: your secret backup phrase. This is a set of words that you can use to recover your account if you lose access to your computer. Click on the button to reveal the words, write them down, and store them in a safe place. Never share these words with anyone. Click "Next" once you've secured your secret phrase.
  6. Confirm your secret phrase by clicking the words in the correct order. This is to make sure you've properly saved your secret phrase.
  7. To interact with the Base Blockchain, you'll need to configure the network settings.
    • Click on "Networks" in the settings. If the Base Blockchain is not present, click "Add Network".
    • Enter the following details:
      • Network Name: Base Mainnet
      • New RPC URL: https://mainnet.base.org
      • Chain ID: 8453
      • Currency Symbol: ETH
      • Block Explorer URL: https://base.blockscout.com/
    • Click "Save" to finish setting up.
  8. Congratulations! You've now set up your MetaMask wallet.

Step 3: Understand the Basic Operations

  1. Sending Funds: To send funds, click "Send" in your wallet, then enter the recipient's address and the amount you want to send. Confirm the transaction and wait for it to be processed.
  2. Receiving Funds: To receive funds, click on "Account details", then copy your account address and give it to the person who wants to send you funds.

Remember to always keep your password and secret backup phrase safe, never share them with anyone, and be cautious of scams asking for these details. Lastly, always double-check addresses when sending funds to avoid losing your crypto.

Step 1: Register for a Binance Account

  1. Go to Binance's website.
  2. Click on "Register". You'll be redirected to the registration page where you need to fill in your email and create a strong password.
  3. Agree to Binance’s Terms of Use and click "Create Account".
  4. You will be asked to complete a basic verification process to ensure the security of your account. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  5. Once your account is set up, navigate to "Security settings" and set up multi-factor authentication (MFA). Binance offers various MFA methods such as Google Authenticator and SMS authentication. Choose the method that suits you the best.
  6. MFA will now be required to log into your account and make transactions, adding an additional layer of security to your account.
  7. To enable withdrawals, you need to verify your identity. Navigate to "Identification Verification" and follow the instructions. The process will involve uploading images of a government-issued ID and a selfie.
  8. Once you've verified your identity, you can withdraw funds from Binance to your personal wallet. Go to "Wallet", select "Withdraw", choose the coin (ETH), and then enter the withdrawal address (your Base address from MetaMask) and amount.

Step 2: Buy ETH

  1. Login to your Binance account. Click on "Buy Crypto" at the top left of the page.
  2. Select the currency you wish to use to buy ETH. Enter the amount you want to spend.
  3. Choose ETH from the dropdown list of cryptocurrencies available.
  4. Click "Buy ETH". Follow the prompts to complete your purchase.

Step 3: Send ETH to Your Base Wallet

  1. Go to your Binance account dashboard, click on "Wallet" then "Fiat and Spot".
  2. Find ETH in the list of cryptocurrencies, then click "Withdraw".
  3. Enter the withdrawal address (this is the address of your wallet on the Base Blockchain).
  4. Choose "Base" as the transfer network.
  5. Enter the amount you wish to withdraw and click "Submit".
  6. Complete the security verification. Binance will process your withdrawal, and your ETH should soon appear in your Base wallet.

Remember to double-check the withdrawal address before sending your funds. Any crypto sent to the wrong address cannot be recovered.

Step 2: Connect Your Wallet to Base

  2. Make sure you understand the tokenomics of the sale. This can include the soft cap, hard cap, minimum and maximum contribution, and liquidity lock.
  3. When you're ready to contribute, enter the amount of ETH you wish to contribute in the FairLaunch and click 'Contribute'.
  4. Confirm the transaction in your MetaMask wallet. Note that you'll need to pay for gas fees in ETH, so ensure you have extra ETH for the transaction costs.
  5. Once the transaction is confirmed, your participation in the $SMUDGE token FairLaunch is complete. You can view your transaction on Base Block Explorer using the transaction hash.

Step 4: Claim Your $SMUDGE Tokens

  1. After the FairLaunch ends, if it's successful, you'll be able to claim your $SMUDGE tokens.
  2. Return to the FairLaunch page, there should be a 'Claim' button. Click on it and confirm the transaction in your MetaMask wallet.
  3. Your new $SMUDGE tokens will be transferred to your wallet.
